BIOGRAPHY


Daniel Boura was born in 2002 in Prague. He began playing the piano at the age of four under the guidance of Peter Toperczer Jr. From an early age, he regularly and successfully participated in numerous national competitions for young pianists, including Prague Junior Note, Amadeus in Brno, Broumovská klávesa, and Virtuosi per musica di piano forte in Ústí nad Labem.In 2013, he was admitted to the Musical Gymnasium in Prague, where he studied in the classes of Peter Toperczer and Marek Kozák. He is currently a fifth-year student at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (HAMU), studying under Lukáš Klánský.He has achieved numerous competition and artistic successes, including the Grand Prize at the international competition Pro Bohemia (2016), First Prize at Beethovenovy Teplice (2020), and a performance of Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 3 in the Smetana Hall of the Municipal House in Prague, accompanied by the Prague Symphony Orchestra in autumn 2021.In March 2022, he was awarded First Prize, the title of Absolute Winner, and a special prize for the best performance of a work by Frédéric Chopin at Beethovenovy Teplice. In November 2024, he won Second Prize at the International Chopin Competition in Rome. Most recently, he became a laureate of the Bedřich Smetana International Competition, where he performed Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1 in E minor in the final round with the Pilsen Philharmonic, receiving Second Prize.He regularly participates in masterclasses with distinguished artists such as Michele Campanella, François Dumont, and Ivan Klánský. He is also actively engaged in chamber music and piano teaching.Daniel Boura performs regularly throughout the Czech Republic and has appeared internationally in France, Spain, Germany, Slovakia, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Turkey, and Iraq. In June 2025, he performed at the Expo 2025 Osaka in Japan.
